AIM Enhances
the Impact of Your Missions Outreach
In a hurting and broken world that continues in a downward spiral
away from Jesus, Adventures In Missions wants to join forces with
the local church to raise up a generation of radical disciple-makers
for Christ. Through relational discipleship and hands-on field
experience, we can recapture the momentum of the Book of Acts. We’ll
impact four strategic areas: your ministry, your students, your
church, and your outreach effectiveness.
Your ministry will be impacted as AIM helps you to think
through and apply a comprehensive discipleship/evangelism/mission
strategy for developing disciple-makers. A partnership with AIM
gives you access to a rich variety of past and present field
experience. Other youth pastors will be happy to share what they’ve
learned. An AIM rep will help you find just the right project match
for your group’s experience and goals.
As AIM openly shares what we discern the Lord is showing us, our
partner groups learn how to develop disciple-makers through
preparation for short-term missions. AIM wants to see God’s Kingdom
advanced, and will assist you in mobilizing and equipping your
students and your church to join forces with Him. After God calls
your group into the mission field, AIM takes care of the logistics
and set-up, freeing you to concentrate on discipling your students.
Together, we can be on the cutting edge of what it takes to develop
this generation into radical disciple-makers for Christ.
Your students will be impacted through the discipleship
process required to equip them for the field. Like a practical
science lab or a scrimmage game, discipleship is both training and
hands-on experience. Your students start by articulating who they
are in Christ, and why they feel called to participate in a
short-term mission outreach. We provide the tools to aid you in the
screening and selection process. Your AIM rep will make suggestions
based on your feedback, and on the insights we have gained through
many years of assisting youth workers.
Next, we’ll provide materials and coaching for the preparation
and equipping phase. For maximum impact, we’ve included overall
training objectives, local field experience suggestions,
site-specific details, and cultural awareness. AIM tracks with you
through youth leader equipping seminars, ongoing discussions about
your training progress, and final preparation details.
The students learn how to hear God’s voice, follow His leading,
share their faith, build relationships, meet felt needs, and debrief
their experience through reflection and response times. If they
approach their mission field experience well prepared, God will be
able to stretch and grow them in delightful and exhilarating ways.
They’ll come home with solid experience in following Jesus to
advance His Kingdom, ready to become the radical disciple-makers God
has called them to be. They will see and experience first-hand those
Kingdom principles that they have read and heard about, changing
them from passive learners into active disciples. With a changed
perspective, they begin to position themselves for greater impact.
Many will thirst for deeper, longer mission experiences or
leadership in ministry. AIM can help you guide them into a
month-long project, a full-year missionary internship, or even a
staff position with AIM, your church, or another ministry.
Your church outreach will be enhanced as students grow and
develop, and then share their mission stories. Imagine the impact on
your congregation as the students relate how God is using them to
change the world, one person at a time! Working with AIM has helped
many churches to develop relational evangelism, local outreaches,
and hands-on involvement in missions. As the congregation catches
on, we can help you challenge them to pray for the nations, be
involved in an adult mission project, financially support mission
work, or even to plant a new church where needed.
Your outreach effectiveness will be evident as you guide your
students through this process of becoming disciple-makers. You will
see disciples emerge as they gain confidence in discerning and
following God’s leading. The insight gained from each mission
experience, potentially from junior high through college, will equip
them to become support staff for your ministry or for AIM. They may
even branch out into their own ministries.
AIM follows up in the field with local pastors, ensuring that the
work you started will continue to bear fruit for the Kingdom. You
can check AIM’s field updates on the web, or return to the same
location the following year to continue your partnership with God
and what He’s doing. |
