As a participant on this domestic mission trip, you will join your team in New Mexico, enjoying the warmth of new friendships and the expectancy of how God will move. You will personally experience Beauty for Ashes ministry through a time of authenticity, vulnerability, hope, and healing as you allow God to use your story to empower you and your team.

Your team will:

• Host Beauty for Ashes retreats for Navajo women living in the reservation to create spaces for God to bring hope, healing, and redemption to the stories of local women.
• Be equipped to share about topics such as worth, identity, healing, and forgiveness with others through storytelling and vulnerability.
• Build meaningful relationships within your team and those with whom you minister.
• Gain a deeper understanding of who God is and who you are as His daughter.

Your team will stay at the ministry site of Navajo Brethren in Christ with bunk beds, showers, and bathrooms. Team members will need to provide their own pillow, toiletries and towel.
Electricity and spotty wifi are available too.

Meals are very much a team effort, and we have a lot of fun in the process! Teams will participate in meal prep and serving. Breakfast will be cold cereal, fruit, bagels, etc.

Lunch will be packed sandwiches, fruit and a side to take to the ministry site. Hot dinners will be prepared by the team as well.

The destination is Bloomfield, New Mexico. For transportation, you have the option of driving or flying into Albuquerque International Sunport Airport (ABQ).

If flying, your trip leader will meet you at the airport and drive the team to the ministry site. As the trip gets closer you will receive an email with a specific meeting location within the airport. Do not purchase your flight until you have received an email with the arrival and departure times.

If driving, you will receive an email with the ministry address and the arrival and departure times. Please do not arrive at the ministry site outside the time frame you are given.

All local transportation will be arranged for by your trip leader. Air transportation is the participant’s responsibility.

The safety of our participants is a top priority for us. We have both an internal Risk Management team and external Risk Management consultants. We use a multi-pronged approach to risk management – including monitoring information from reporting agencies and relying on the knowledge of our ministry partners. In addition to our own protocols (e.g., participants must be in pairs at all times), our ministry hosts and partners will provide trip specific safety guidelines for the particular trip location. Our Project Leaders are trained in risk management and have access to both on-field and home-office support.

$27 Deposit: This deposit is applied to the total cost of your trip and is required to reserve your trip. The deposit is due a week after you have been accepted to the trip. Acceptance typically happens at the end of your phone interview.

50% Payment: Half of your total trip cost will need to be paid 6 weeks before your trip.

100% Payment: The remaining balance is due 1 month before your trip.

Three live virtual training sessions are required for this trip. Typically the training sessions are hosted during the week in the early evening. Once your trip’s launching is confirmed, you will be provided the dates and time for the training.

During the training you will be introduced to your trip leader and your team. The team will walk through retreat sessions and learn the lay out of Beauty for Ashes retreats.
