Mission Trip Details

Meet the People of Nashville

Country music traces its roots to the Music City. Musicians hope to play on the stage touched by Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and many more. The sounds of musical hope ring in the ears of many who flock to the city of Nashville, looking to make it big.

Hidden behind the music are the homeless, forgotten kids, and a community in need. Nashville offers a unique opportunity to both see and meet the needs of a community hidden by music. From feeding programs to street evangelism, youth programs to block parties, let the Lord guide you as you share hope in Christ and restore value to the lives in a forgotten community.

Service Opportunities

Neighborhood Outreach: Block parties, canvassing, prayer stops and home visits, where you’ll get to hear people’s stories and share your own experiences.
Children’s Ministry: You could be helping with a VBS or after school program for at risk youth in the area.
Work Projects: Local churches, businesses, and neighbors are always in need of some assistance with their buildings or yards.
Homeless Ministry: We partner with a ministry that provides clothing, food, showers, fellowship and the love of Jesus multiple days awake to the homeless in the community.

Living Arrangements

Your team will be hosted by our partner church in East Nashville. Teams will sleep in classrooms and bring their own air mattresses.

Transportation

If flying, you will fly into Nashville International Airport. You will need to provide your own transportation during the duration of your stay. If you will rent vehicles for the mission, please reserve rental vehicles in advance. Your group will use your vehicles for team movement throughout the mission.

Cooking

The church has a full kitchen. Meals are very much a team effort, and we have a lot of fun in the

process! Teams will participate in meal selection (prior to departure), prep, and serving. Breakfast will be self-serve. Lunch will be packed sandwiches, fruit and a side that can be taken to a ministry site. Hot dinners will typically be served after ministry and prepared by your team. Food is prepared and served in the church.

Safety

The safety of our participants is a top priority for us. We have both an internal Risk Management team and external Risk Management consultants. We use a multi-pronged approach to risk management – including monitoring information from reporting agencies and relying on the knowledge of our ministry partners. In addition to our own protocols (e.g., students must be with an adult at all times), our ministry hosts and partners will provide trip specific safety guidelines for the particular trip location. Our Mission Leaders are trained in risk management and have access to both on-field and home-office support.

Registration and Payment

$500 Deposit: This deposit is required to reserve your trip. At this point, you will lock in your trip and we will keep in touch with you going forward about preparation. This deposit is applied to the total cost of your trip.

50% Payment: Half of your total trip cost will need to be paid 3 months before your trip.

100% Payment: The remaining balance is due 2 months before your trip.

Meet Your Mission Leader

An adult Mission Leader will be assigned to your team throughout the duration of your trip. They will stay with you and your team, as well as engage daily with you throughout ministry and daily life activities. This leader will have strong missions experience, leadership experience and a demonstrated competence in the area of discipleship of youth and young adults. In most cases, your Mission Leader will help with facilitating ministry, meals and daily debrief and devotional time. Your Mission Leader will be assigned to your trip and you’ll have the opportunity to have conversations with them during the weeks leading up to your trip.

Sample Schedule

Join Us for a Week of Service and Growth in Nashville!

Here’s a glimpse into a rewarding week of ministry in Nashville:

Saturday: Arrive and settle in, then kick off the week with orientation, worship, and time connecting with your team.

Sunday: Attend a local church, then spend the afternoon serving through homeless outreach and acts of kindness throughout the community.

Monday: Spend the morning serving through farm ministry, then participate in an afternoon event serving children and families in the foster care community.

Tuesday: Help sort and organize donated items at a local warehouse, then head into the community for water bottle street ministry and homeless outreach.

Wednesday: Serve through farm ministry in the morning, then spend the afternoon helping at a local soup kitchen.

Thursday: Spend the morning sorting and packing donations to support people experiencing homelessness, then enjoy a free afternoon to rest, explore Nashville, and spend time with your team.

Friday: Gather for prayer before concluding your trip and departing, taking with you unforgettable memories and experiences.

Throughout the week, you’ll begin your days with breakfast and devotionals and end them with opportunities for debrief, worship, and team connection. We can’t wait for you to join us as we serve the people of Nashville, grow together, and see how God moves throughout the week!
