Leadership Application & Qualifications

Application Process

Thank you for your interest in becoming a mission leader! Filling out and submitting this form will start the process. Next, we’ll schedule you for a phone interview and ask for references. Then we would send an invitation to attend our mission leader training in February 2025.
  • Submit Interest Form
    Start by submitting a Mission Leader Interest Form to express your interest in joining our leadership team
  • Receive Responsibilities List & Schedule Interview
    After receiving your form, we will send you a list of mission leader responsibilities and schedule a phone interview.
  • Complete Phone Interview
    During the phone interview, we’ll discuss your experience, qualifications, and passion for mission work.
  • Provide References & Background Check
    You’ll need to provide two references and complete a background check.
  • Receive Mission Leader Manual
    Upon successful completion of the background check, you’ll receive our Mission Leader Manual to familiarize yourself with our processes and expectations.
  • Attend Leadership Training Camp
    We will extend an invitation for you to attend our Leadership Training Camp in February 2025, where you’ll receive in-depth training and preparation.
  • Participate as a Trainee
    After training, you will go on a short-term trip as a trainee, working alongside experienced leaders to gain hands-on experience.

Qualifications

  • Age 21+
  • High Integrity & Spiritual Maturity
    We seek leaders who exemplify strong moral character and a deep commitment to their faith.
  • Organizational, Communication & Problem-Solving Skills
    Effective leadership requires the ability to organize teams, communicate clearly, and resolve challenges efficiently.
  • Previous Leadership Experience
    Whether with Adventures in Missions or other organizations, prior leadership experience is essential.
  • Previous Missions Experience
    Familiarity with mission work and the challenges it presents is crucial for a successful leader. World Race Alumni are welcome!
  • Previous Missions Experience
    Familiarity with mission work and the challenges it presents is crucial for a successful leader. World Race Alumni are welcome!
  • Ongoing Training
    Initial attendance at mission leader training is required, with refresher training at least once every three years.
  • Teachable Spirit
    A willingness to learn and grow is vital for continuous improvement and effective leadership.
  • Motivated & Humble
    We value leaders who are driven to make a difference while remaining humble, with integrity and vulnerability.
  • Flexibility & Open-Mindedness
    Adaptability and an open mind are key to navigating the diverse and dynamic nature of mission work.
