AIM August 2009 Newsletter

Fall is here and the signs are obvious; the temperature drops, the last pitch is tossed, the football is passed and it’s time for most kids to go back to school. But for some children across the globe there is no home and no school to go to. Learn more about how you can make a difference in the lives of these kids and their communities in this month’s newsletter-available online NOW. We invite you to go deeper and be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need.

August 2009 Newsletter Features:

:: Upcoming Trips ::

World Race January 2010

The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world, and it’s not your typical missions experience.  It’s a year of adventure, ministry, community and self-discovery. World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe.  The best part of the World Race is it’s merely the beginning of a life-long journey.

Do you have what it takes to go on one of our upcoming races?  Fill out an application to become part of something big.
High School Student Trips

Summer is not the only time to go on a mission trip. If you missed your chance to go and serve this summer or are already looking for another adventure for yourself or your group, consider a trip during the school year. We have some exciting new trips and mission experiences for those who are up for the challenge.

:: Be Conference ::

These free ministry and mission conferences is an invitation to those who have spent too much time and energy striving in their ministries to rest. Participants will spend time in prayer, worship and discussions that will empower each person to freely minister in ways that better complement their gifts and callings.

The Be Conference is being offered on various dates and in various cities throughout the U.S. starting in the fall of 2009 and running through the spring of 2010. Cities include Atlanta, GA; Springfield, MO; Houston, TX; Las Vegas, NV; Dallas, TX; and Chicago, IL, just to name a few.

Visit AIM’s Be Conference site for the dates and locations nearest you.

Jesus Loves the Little Children
Kelly Kramp writes:

This month we have had more freedom to choose the ministries we want to get involved with. Some people have been volunteering at a local orphanage, some have been doing construction, and we have all had a chance to get to know people in the community. I personally felt like God was calling me to lead the kid’s club.

A Typical Day

Check out this video from Patricia Stratton of Tokoroa, New Zealand.  See the sights and sounds from a typical day while traveling in Romania as part of The World Race.

Walking the Narrow Road
Becca Arnold writes:

So I find myself for the first time in three years doing something new by myself with out a team or a community right beside me. It’s a scary thought. But I know that the Lord has me here at school for a reason. I’m not sure of what it is right now but as my sister reminded me yesterday the Lord knows. So I chose to hold on to that and trust him with my year, and my experience here in Traverse City.  Read more…

More and more people are going deeper in their relationship with Christ through their participation in AIM mission trips. Lives are being transformed. Come, be a part of it!
