Hello from Cambodia! (Finally!) After bouncing around from home to home (my team stayed in four different places throughout the course of one week), we are finally settled into our permanent abode. May I point out that said abode is a hotel with air conditioning? Hallelujah. Not to mention that we had an amazing first week of ministry at TransformAsia in Battambang.
In terms of Asia…Cambodians are great. Their hospitality and selflessness amazes me. What amazes me even more is how they treat my team. The majority of the people we see light up and say hello just because they know where we come from. But do they know where we come from? Do they know that we are all a bunch of crazy Americans who are simply obeying God? My team recently found out that one girl at the center changed from a solemn orphan to a joyful young woman this week just because we were there. Why? I think Jesus sums it up pretty well when he says"'If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him'" (John 14:23).
My team is a simple group of fourteen women who decided to obey God. As a reward, He has already made His presence known in Cambodia.
