Women’s Mission Trips to Northeast Georgia

Northeast Georgia is known for its series of sleepy, historic, small towns and beautiful mountain views. This beautiful area is also home to our Adventures in Missions main campus and headquarters, specifically located in Gainesville.

Gainesville is one hour north of Atlanta, home to the busiest airport in the world. Due to this large activity, Atlanta has become a hub for human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Unknown to most of its residents, Gainesville is quietly, yet actively caught up in this tragic activity as well.

Your time in Northeast Georgia, will be spent serving local immigrant women or survivors of sexual exploitation or residents in a recovery group. Join a Christ-centered community of women committed to sharing God’s love with women.

Details about women’s mission trips with Adventures in Missions

Activities and Opportunities

As a participant on this domestic mission trip, you will join your team in Northeast Georgia, enjoying the warmth of new friends and the expectancy of how God will move. You will personally experience Beauty for Ashes ministry through a time of authenticity, vulnerability, hope, and healing as you allow God to use your story to share His hope with others.

Your team will:

  • Host Beauty for Ashes retreats to create spaces for God to bring hope, healing, and redemption to the stories of local women.
  • Be equipped to share about topics such as worth, identity, healing, and forgiveness with others through storytelling and vulnerability.
  • Build meaningful relationships within your team and those with whom you minister.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of who God is and who you are as His daughter.

Come with a servant’s heart and a willingness to do whatever is needed. Each day may look different and things might change day-to-day depending on the need.

Lodging

Your team will lodge at our headquarters where bunk beds, sheets and pillows are provided. Showers are in a trailer outside of our lodging area. There are trails on site for running/nature walks.

Meals

Meals will be prepared by the team. Make sure your food allergies are up-to-date on your “Medical” tab. We will not be able to accommodate dietary preferences.

Travel and Transportation

The destination is Gainesville, Georgia. For transportation, you have the option of driving or flying into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

If flying, your trip leader will meet you at the airport and drive the team to the ministry site that is 1.5 hours away from the airport. As the trip gets closer you will receive an email with a specific meeting location within the airport. Do not purchase your flight until you have received an email with the arrival and departure times.

If driving, you will receive an email with the ministry address and the arrival and departure times. Please do not arrive at the ministry site outside the time frame you are given.

All local transportation will be arranged for by your trip leader. All transportation to the meeting point, prior to the trip, is the participant’s responsibility.

Health and Safety

The safety of our participants is a top priority for us. We have both an internal Risk Management team and external Risk Management consultants. We use a multi-pronged approach to risk management – including monitoring information from reporting agencies and relying on the knowledge of our ministry partners. In addition to our own protocols (e.g., participants must be in pairs at all times), our ministry hosts and partners will provide trip specific safety guidelines for the particular trip location. Our Project Leaders are trained in risk management and have access to both on-field and home-office support.

Registration and Payment

$27 Deposit: This deposit is applied to the total cost of your trip and is required to reserve your trip. The deposit is due a week after you have been accepted to the trip. Acceptance typically happens at the end of your phone interview.

50% Payment: Half of your total trip cost will need to be paid 6 weeks before your trip.

100% Payment: The remaining balance is due 1 month before your trip.

Training

Two live virtual training sessions are required for this trip. Typically the training sessions are hosted during the week in the early evening. Once your trip’s launching is confirmed, you will be provided the dates and time for the training.

During the training you will be introduced to your trip leader and your team. The team will walk through retreat sessions and learn the lay out of Beauty for Ashes retreats.

Testimonials

Ruths Story

You’ve got a story to tell. It’s significant, powerful, and you want it to count for something. That’s exactly how Ruth and her team felt on the very first Beauty for Ashes trip in 2014. They wanted to see women set free from the lies they had believed for years. On that trip, Ruth met a woman named Nancy. She realized this new friend had a story in need of God’s redemption. After her time with Ruth, Nancy began believing God’s truth — her story does matter.

Psalm 107:2 says “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.” Since 2014, Beauty for Ashes has reached over 5,000 women in 60 countries because of people like you, who are willing to share their story of redemption. We’ve hosted hundreds of retreats and small groups around the world, and have seen our curriculum proven as an effective tool God is using to foster lasting change in the lives of women.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community of women committed to sharing God’s love to all of the nations, then it’s time for you to join us in Albania.
