A New Normal.

We have only been in Antigua about a week, but some things have already become normal and routine. Here are a few things that we are used to already :

1. Having PB&J for lunch daily.

2. The three alarm clocks we don't have to set: squirrels dancing on our thin roof, the neighborhood rooster, and the church bells that ring every hour.

3. People peeing in the street. Yes, women too.

4. Nutso driving. Our host informed us "Cars are not your friends here." We are learning that statement is 100% accurate.

5. The pouring rain and thunder that comes every evening. ( With the occasional 6.5 Earthquake)

6. Unpredictable showers. Real Cold or real hot, but you never know which one you're gonna get.

7. Teaching Sex Ed to hundreds teens.

8. Eating chips & salsa all day every day.

9. Using charades and broken Spanish to try and communicate.

10. Having to wash all fruits and vegetables with chlorine before eating them.

11. Hearing "SPECIAL PRICE FOR YOU" at every store.

12. Using a  volcano as a landmark to know where home is.

13. Eating peanut butter and sugar with a spoon for dessert.

14. Fitting nine people into a five person car.

15. Buying two dozen potatoes for a dollar and a half.

16. Getting things for half the tagged price.

17. Making frequent visits to the Choco Museo for free tea.

18. Doing "The Wobble" daily.

19. Being treated like super stars. Free cookies, free breakfast and tons of pictures.

20. Having one inch of clearance on each side of the car is considered "plenty of space".
