What would you give for the chance to travel back in time to your college self? If you’re a college student, pay attention. There’s plenty of advice we [the old folk] would offer ourselves, especially the kind warning against making uninformed, unwise decisions that almost always end badly.
Our message might look a little like this:
Dear College Me,
- That mullet? Not cool. Not now. Not then. Not ever.
- The red stuff? Don’t drink it. Just. don’t.
- That outfit? Please. Think twice about it. Then think again.
There are things we’d do a little differently, like taking that sociology class with that professor even though it wasn’t required. There are some things we’d repeat – more than once! That life-changing semester abroad in Argentina, for example, or those years spent in campus ministry that taught you how to lead.
Take two minutes to see what we would tell our younger selves. We can’t change our past but we’re hoping we can save your present so you have a better future.
Do you need encouragement? Or maybe a good kick in the pants? If this video struck a chord with you, please share it on:
For fellow college alumni, share in the comments what you’d say to your college self. If you’re a college student, we’re hoping to save you some regret and help you reach greater heights. Just imagine the impact you would make if you know now what we learned the hard way.
