From Planes to Trains, aka Training Camp

Getting off the plane in Atlanta, little did I know meeting fellow AIM'ers was just the beginning of an exceedingly adventurous night. Hauling heavy luggage across most of Atlanta was almost as unexpected as the destination of our arrival. The Atlanta Safehouse was home for night 1. The safe house, which normally  comforts, invites and reaches out to the homeless and poor of Atlanta, Georgia, was now housing 60-70 missionaries. When we thought that was exciting enough, the entirety of us broke up into teams and dispersed into the busy streets of Atlanta to see if we couldn't break a conversation about Jesus. What weekend is it in Atlanta? DRAGONCON. That means 40,000 people all converge in one city to dress like their favorite character from fiction. This can be anywhere from the Ghost Busters, to zombies, to Storm Troopers (starwars). To put it simply, this was a night to remember!
As we arrived the next day into Adventures in Missions training camp, the whole of us launched into a relationship-making extravaganza. I've met some of the most incredible people. In the three days I've spent with them I have been so moved by everyones passion to see the LORD work. I have no idea what sort of greatness I'm in for in the coming months. As for training camp, well, the Spirit of the LORD is sweeping our hearts away. I was unsure of what training would actually entail. Little did I know I feel a hundredfold times more prepared then before. My heart has been tuned for His work. I cannot wait to set foot on Guatemalan soil!
