Our God

Sunday mornings here are always interesting. By Interesting I mean extremely confusing and slightly frustrating. My time at church is spent bouncing around the bible or trying to translate the sermons/songs to the best of my abilities. I leave church feeling empty, desperately just wanting to be filled with the spirit.
However, this past Sunday opened my eyes. I walked into the room thinking it was going to be just another overwhelming and Spanish filled service. The music started and they began to play "Our God" by Chris Tomlin (in Spanish). When I realized what was playing something cameover me, I had a new found appreciation for the church I was at and the Spanish language. I started to sing along, in English, but I could feel God fill the room. The sound of two different cultures melding to worship the same God was powerful. God was reminding me of something. He was reminding me that He is our God. He is not my God. He is not the English language's God. He is not America's God. He is the world's God. He is every languages' God. He is God to every culture, gender, race, etc. He is not limited to or by the English/Spanish Language. His love is not limited. His mercy, grace, and truth is not limited to or by any language. I believe God can break any boundary. I believe He will use me to impact lives despite the language barrier. I believe He will use his love to speak through me. I have no clue what that will look like  but I know he can do it.
