As college students around the country step foot into classrooms for the start of the spring semester, more than 40
Real Life mission trip participants are stepping foot into foreign soil this week to learn some of the biggest lessons of their lives.
The lessons began at training camp for these Real Life participants, where they learned some valuable lessons in letting go of expectations, learning about prophecy and ministering to others.
Here’s a look at what some of the participants had to say about the start of their journey.
“I’m jumping up and down with raised hands and shouting victories one minute, on my knees crying and praying the next. (It’s) my realization of being consumed by the Holy Spirit, understanding that I no longer have to feel any guilt or shame.” – Sam Bartee, Kenya
“I know that this is where God wants me to be and that he has placed this
team together for such a time as this. Not only will Nicaragua
experience a team so passionate for them, but they will know God. They
will know the one who sent us and we will bring the rain.” -Calah Lynes, Nicaragua
“How do you start to explain the beginning of an incredible journey? I
am at loss for words but filled with so many emotions. One of the more
prominent ones being peace. To tell a summary feels like such an
injustice considering the amount of incredible things that has happened
in the matter of 4 days. But i feel it would be encouraging to know
that prisons have been broken, hearts have been filled, and lives
restored.” -Katri Eidsen, Southeast Asia
For the next four months, these students’ lives will be changed as they change the landscape of Southeast Asia, India,
Nicaragua,
Kenya and Uganda.
There are still more opportunities for other college age mission trips this year. You can change the world, too.
