World Race Discipleship & Leadership Training Academy. This is a year-long academy that is delivered in three phases: the student phase (5 months), apprentice phase (5 months), and activation phase (2 months). Participants may opt in to only one phase at a time, but they must all begin with the student phase.
The World Race DLTA academy exists to develop mature disciples who are activated in their calling and purpose in the Kingdom of God.
We are building a boat. Our students are passionate disciples of Christ. They want to serve Him with their lives, but they don’t always know how to do that. At WR DLTA we are helping them build a boat. They need a vessel that can weather the storms of life that come their way and still hold on to Jesus. They need to build a foundation on understanding how to read Scripture and what it says about who God is: His nature and character. They need to repair any holes in the hull of their soul. They need to know how to open up their sails to have the Holy Spirit move through them into a world that needs the light of the Gospel. And they need a map, or at least a compass, to direct them to the places they can partner with God in their calling to see the Kingdom come to earth as it is in Heaven.
Our participants are investing in their impact in the Kingdom for the REST OF THEIR LIVES. Every life they touch will be directly impacted through the time they took to build their boat. This important work is not only difficult, but the culture and the enemy do not want seafaring vessels taken to the ends of the earth. But we are here to build boats and send them out: whether across the street or around the world.
Discipleship takes many forms. In DLTA, you can expect to be discipled through the classroom teaching and projects, local alumni mentors, house mentors in your homes, and by access to our staff and interns. More than anything, we want to see Christ formed in you. We aren’t looking to make mini-me’s but to see you become Christ with skin on to the world around you.
We believe each person is powerful by design to have individual agency; being able to control one’s own actions, thoughts, and decisions. DLTA will challenge you to take responsibility for your own life and have the resilience to face life’s trials with a firm foundation in Christ.
Whether in your own journey as a disciple, transforming your mind, submitting your body, soul, and spirit to God, or in service to others, we seek first the Kingdom of God and the King on the throne: Jesus Christ!
You will learn to live in an intentional community while creating a culture of safety that cultivates authenticity, vulnerability, and fun. We seek to explore what sets Christian community apart from the world’s communities and how to engage within it and create it when you move on from DLTA.
We believe that curiosity is necessary for growth. We want you to ask questions, be curious, and explore with us. Sometimes, this curiosity is expressed through giving and receiving feedback in love. We seek to create a culture that is open to questions, curiosity and reflection in and out of the classroom.
DLTA is designed for you to engage in ministry with one another and those around you. You will be amazed at how often you will pray over your classmates and teachers. We hope to help you transition from a life of ministry on the field to a missional life wherever you go, whatever you do. DLTA also activates participants in hands-on ministry through service hours, service weeks, and the activation phase.
