a time and a place

Hello world!
FINALLY I'm updating a blog again!
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been having serious blogging issues.
IN A NUT SHELL,
last week was really, really hard. Extremely emotional. And I hope that when I get home, I can adequately describe it when I get home.

But let me tell you a little story.
I waited until the last minute to pack for this trip.
Shocker, right?
Well I did. And my bible was putting my over my luggage weight limit by like a solid 5 pounds. So my mom suggested I take an old Bible she had.
I took it, but I was honestly really upset. My Bible and I have been through a lot in the last few years. I had a lot highlighted and bookmarked and words defined and notes and…well I was mad I had to leave it behind.
The first week I was here, I was just flipping through, being frustrated that the words were so small, and wishing for my other translation, when I ran across an underlined verse.
I took a closer look, and read through Ephesians 3:16-19, and saw a little note penciled in to the side of it in my mom's handwritting.
"For Courtney, 4/93"
My mom had been praying this verse for me since I was a brand new babe in the world.
And I was just now running across it, on my own.
God's timing is crazy. A verse that is relevant to my entire story, learning the love of Christ and having Christ being the strong center of my being, keeping me from harm when I went through such a serious depression.
I was, as always, mystefied by the amazing love and timing of God.
And I made sure I told the women here.
You can't always see it.
Sometimes it's so dark you don't think you can see anything.
But God is always, always there.

To continue in the wonderful theme of God's timing,
I talked to one of the women last night.
Okay, it's more specific than that, but it's also that simple.
A woman that I've been trying to talk to for weeks was able to talk with me yesterday.
All God's timing. When I had finally given it up to Him, and was just saying, "Well, if you want us to talk."
That's when I found the book.
THE BOOK.
It was full of phrases and words in English, and how to say them in Khmai.
We talked, in very broken English and Khmai, for a little over 2 hours.
She now has a picture of my family in her room.
It is so crazy about how intentional God has been.

It's been hard here for sure.
But so, so amazing at the same time.
I am looking forward to processing through everything when I get home.
For now, I am enjoying the time I am able to spend with these girls, and I am greatly looking forward for what is to come in the next few weeks.

Love you all.
