Bringing the mission home

As you know, all of our World Race missionaries quickly returned to the USA back in March. We want them to have the opportunity to finish what the Lord started in and through them before their time on the mission field was cut short.

Many of those World Racers have already joined teams domestically to join the movement of revival in America. And even more of them will be redeploying to the mission field both in the United States and internationally in 2021 to join our long-term missionaries who are rebuilding ministry efforts in the midst of a global pandemic.

We’re excited to see what God does with this unexpected detour!

Semesters by WR trips were rerouted for the summer due to global safety and travel restrictions. Teams spent time serving alongside a missional community near Asheville, NC, serving a children’s home, thrift store, and food pantry, as well as sharing the love of God with their neighbors. Teams also worked with our friends at Bridgepoint Missions Center in Wisconsin Dells in their ministry to international students. We’re even continuing to offer these options in the United States for the current and future semesters!

Ambassador, our summer program for high school students, also gave an option for students here in Gainesville, GA. Ten students joined our partner, Pier Center for Life Enrichment, to create a fun and safe summer camp experience for adults with special needs. They served as camp counselors, led the Pier campers in songs, games, crafts, and other summer camp activities.

“It has stretched me because it’s the first time I’ve done a domestic mission trip. It’s given me a new perspective on how to do ministry in our own nation. It’s the same God here that I met on my mission trip in Africa. It’s amazing being able to do ministry with no language or culture barrier.”  Jo Vides, Semesters
