Handprint on my Heart

Hello everyone!!! We have already made it through our fourth week in Cambodia. I can honestly say it has been one of the best experiences of my life so far. We are working with an organization called "Transform Asia". Transform Asia is an organization that helps keep young teens out of drugs, prostitution, gangs, ect and gives them an education. God is giving us the opportunity to invest in these children's lives not only spiritually but educationally. I am so grateful God has placed each and everyone if these kids in our lives and that he has intrusted us with them. My teammates and I  have already been able to share the gospel with students that have never even heard there is a God. They are so excited about it and are ready to learn more and more each day. They are incredibly smart and have exceeded any expectations I might have had. I love being able to teach them, and God has truly given me so much more joy doing it than I could have ever imagined.

I have really connected with one of the little boys; his name is Sotan. Sotan's mother has little to noinvolvement in his life and his father is very sick and unable to work, which has left them very poor. At thirteen years old Sotan has had to step up and take the role of the "man" in his family and care for his bothers and sisters.  Sotan's sisters Tina and Jetna have actually left their home in Battambang to go work in Thailand. It is illegal for them to cross the border and they can get in serious trouble if they are caught. I am so heart broken for the two girls because at the tender ages of 16 and and five, they should be worry free. Instead, they have to be worrying about providing for their family.Transform Asia let us know most of the time when young girls go find work like this they end up in prostitution. God has laid it on my heart to pray for them everyday and be the light in Sotan's life he needs right now. I know God is going to do an incredible work in their family and I hope I will be here to see the fruit of that. Right now I am so content being able to build a relationship with Sotan and be the Jesus he needs in his life right now. I can't wait to see all that God has in store for me and these young people in the next ten weeks. Please keep us in your prayers. I love you all. 🙂
