I Left Training Camp Wrecked

Meredith Moyer, of the September 2013 Passport Immersion squad, just finished Training Camp. She came a hot mess and left wrecked for ordinary life. Read more of her story below.

I came into training camp a mess.
I came into training camp hating myself.
I came into training camp blaming myself.
I came into training camp wrecked.

Have you ever just felt like giving up?

Like nothing is even worth your energy that day?

God knew what I was going to get out of this week and He didn’t let me clock out. I had wanted to just go home after a couple of days at training camp.

Satan knew how to get to me.

He knew how to get to me since the day I first thought about applying.

He knew what would make me crumble. He knew the pain I would experience by losing certain people and the pain I would feel for people, which made me rethink everything about leaving. And he knew how to get to me the day before we left for training camp.

“They need you here” the enemy would whisper “You can’t just drop out on them.”

But God had a different plan. He took what Satan was crushing me with and used it for His Glory!

Jesus saved me again!

He loved me with my doubts and fears; He chased me even though I was running further than I’ve ever ran before. He stopped me and wrapped His arms around me with His love and hope and strength! He broke every chain!

I’m made new!

I left training camp with a renewed hope.
I left training camp loved.
I left training camp with peace.
I left training camp wrecked.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:14-16
