It´s not about me.

Nothing casts down all pride like life on the mission field. You are dirty, smelly, unshaven, and unkempt in every way. You start competitions with your team mates to see who can go the longest without showering, you stop washing your hands because the tap water is probably worse for you then any of the germs already on your hands, and no matter what you always smell like a mixture of sunscreen, bugspray, and sweat. The kind of smell that just makes you think of the color brown. This  has been my life for the past 6 weeks. And I love it. I wouldn´t have it any other way.

Because it´s not about me.

This is the message that God has been speaking over me since the day I arrived in Panajachel, and there is so much hard truth in that statement.

It´s not about how my hair looks.
It´s not about whether I´m full after eating.
It´s not about me getting enough sleep at night.
It´s not about me being comfortable.
It´s not about what I have to offer.

It´s about THEM. The beautiful people of Guatemala who are living lives of imprisionment and being taught to believe lies about their worth and vaule.
It´s about THE CHILDREN on the streets selling overpriced keychains at 5 years old, and the only thing they think they know about God is that He is far away and doesn´t care about them.
And it´s about HIM. The King of all Kings. The Lion and the Lamb. The one and only God.
He adores these people so much and for some reason, He is using my team and I so share His amazing love and grace.

These people are so very spiritually hungry. They soak up the gospel and the love of God so quickly, and they always want more. More prayer. More knowledge. More truth.
I´ve only been here 6 weeks. A tiny fraction of my lifetime. And yet I have seen Gods glory shine more tangeibly here then I ever have in my entire life. The people are so ready and so willing to throw away literally EVERYTHING for just a glimps of the King. For just a taste of His presence. And God has shown himself, once again willing to give and to provide for His people.
So if I have to go without a shower for a few days, fine. I´ll do it without hesitation. If I have to give my food to a local family, and go hungry for a night, absolutley. It´s not about me. If I can show Gods glory through selfless acts, then PLEASE LET ME! Because it´s not about me! HE is so very good, and so very faithful. And I am so honored to be able to show these beautiful people His love.

Thank you all for your continued love and prayers and support! I´m terrible at writing blogs but I´ll try and get a few more out in the next few weeks! BLESSINGS!
