This week has been my favorite week in Guatemala so far. It’s the first week that we’ve really done things outside of our little neighborhood in Puerto Barrios. On Sunday we spent the day at this amazing waterfall, we went there with our church for baptisms but afterward we hiked up the waterfall and swam and jumped into the current for as long as we could till he forced us down the river. It was by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. We visited the trash dump and the nursing home again this week, but the highlight of my week was definitely when one of the girls from the high school, Marilyn, came into our hostile looking for her amiga abby, me J. She was so cute and so excited to come visit me. When she came in I told her I liked her necklace, and before she left she took and off and put it around my neck, I loved it. The other highlight of my week was our day in Livingston, a little town about a thirty-minute boat ride away. It is this beautiful tropical place only a short boat ride away from Belize. The water there is beautiful, we actually saw dolphins on the way back to Puerto Barrios! This week has been an encouraging week. It’s been the first week that my team has felt like my family and my hostile has felt like home. Obviously there are still some differences, like eating rice in my frosted flakes instead of milk for breakfast or having a fan blow on me while I sleep being the biggest blessing in the world. It was a blessing that this week was filled with fun adventures because it was also really spiritually exhausting. We did a lot of street evangelism and intercessory prayer, which is always good but sometimes draining. Please continue keeping me in your prayers as I begin my third week here!
