“I will praise you, O Lord among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.” Psalm 57:9-11
It is day 75 on the mission field, and we will be heading back to the states in just 26 days. I am so excited about going home and being back with my family and friends, but I am so thankful for the time we have left. God has truly transformed my life through this journey. He has taught me how to love, and not just love, but to love well. I wanted to become selfless on this journey, and I am not completely there, nor will I ever until the day Christ comes again, but He is working with me everyday. Christ has truly become my best friend.
Coming on this trip I gave up a lot. I gave up my family, friends, boyfriend, school, my comfort, my time…But God is so good! He is constantly reminding me that all I need is Him. My home is in the Lord, and wherever He takes me, I will go.
This journey has not always been easy, but the more I draw on the Lord for strength, the easier it becomes. God is equipping me each morning and I am so thankful for His Presence. I am so thankful that He chose me, and that I’ve been given this opportunity to grow stronger in Him each day. I am so blessed. Even in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, I am so blessed. God is so faithful!
I am in such a great place! I am finding myself so happy with life. God is so great! Just a couple years ago I was living a life of sin. I knew God, and I still prayed and believed He was my Savior…but I was living very differently. I was living for myself. I was consumed with the world and all it had to offer. But God rescued me from that life. He is so good, and I couldn’t imagine ever living without Him again. He is my strength, my comforter, my Savior…He is my EVERYTHING! I just want to tell the world about Him and His unfailing love.
To end this blog I really want to thank my family for their unconditional love and support. I have put them through a lot, and they never gave up on me. God has truly blessed me with amazing parents and two incredible siblings. I couldn’t imagine life without them. Also all my amazing friends who love and pray for me. My amazing church family. My incredible boyfriend who loves the Lord with all his heart. He is a constant encourager in my life, and to everyone else who has kept me and my team in their prayers. I love and appreciate you all so much. Definitely continue to keep our team in your prayers as we finish this Guatemala adventure.
Here’s some verses that I found encouraging…
“Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness and with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:4-10
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:1-2
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” Psalm 62:1-2
“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.” Psalm 63:3-4
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
These are just a few of the verses that really stuck out to me this week… Hope you find encouragement through them! I pray God pour out His abundance into each of your lives.
DIOS TE BENDIGA! 🙂
