Whats up! So this is my second blog and my first in Guatemala, sorry it’s taken so long. Just been busy. Well from the flight in, till now it’s been an eye opener. It’s an incredibly beautiful place, but everywhere you look it’s completely different from home that’s for sure. While driving up here the first day I witnessed a fatality from a car wreck. Unlike the U.S. and other countries, the Guatemalan government is to poor to have cops in force street laws. So you can imagine it’s pretty dangerous. Speaking of Guatemalan law enforcement, the police that they do have are corrupt. The drugs that they take up they’ll end up selling it to make extra money. There are numerous things I could talk about with how corrupt and evil this place is. But I’d rather talk about what God is doing in our lives and the great things that are happening here in Puerto Barrios. Were staying here with a ministry called shofar ministries. Were actually the biggest mission group they’ve had here with 22 of us. So we’ve had to make a little adjustments, but it’s all good. We started a couple of ministry’s like the dump ministry. This has been the biggest eye opener to me by far. To see children 3 years old living in this garbage dump almost a half of a mile long, is so heartbreaking… The smell of this dump is awful, in some spots you have to fight the urge to throw up. Yet, these children have been living in this their whole lives. The amazing thing is that most of them had smiles on there faces. Seeing this brought me to a place of wondering why God has blessed me so much in my life. But God gave me a peace about this letting me know that he is always good, all the time. God gave me a verse and maybe this will help someone in their walk in Christ. “Our help is in the name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:8 God just reassured me that our help and ALL that we have is in him; that nothing is possible without him! So if your struggling threw something today or in the future just remember, that the God of the universe loves you more than you can ever imagine! Well I hope everything is going great for everyone back home, I’ll be prayin! Pleases pray for my team and I, for the people that will come in contact with and just health of our team. ALL GLORY TO GOD! Walker Vines.Â
