Tonight we went back to Bar Popeye. I wish I was going to be able to put into words what happened tonight, but words really can’t do it justice. I’m not sure how to describe it to people so that they can understand.Â
We know this bar and the women there. These were the ladies we danced with, the ladies that have shared their entire stories with us. Only two were there tonight, and one e hadn’t ever seen before.
When we asked where the other women were, they told us that drugs and alcohol had gotten in the way and prohibited them from working anymore. A porn film is playing in the background. The two ladies who are there have been drinking, and are sitting alone in a dark corner. The darkness is so heavy.Â
We learn that Sandra’s Granddaughter, only three months old, has a large tumor growing on her and they don’t know what to do about it. We ask to see the baby, and the mom comes over with her little girl that doesn’t yet have a name, although they like the name Christina.
We pray our hearts out over that baby, and the atmosphere begins to change. W all felt that God has his hand over that little baby, and one of the girls who had her hand over the tumor said she felt it begin to shrink. Gods presence, maybe for the first time, entered that place tonight. I wish I could describe how it felt…but we were all overcome.Â
We prayed again outside that bar. Asking God to do something crazy. He gave me the picture of an anchor…promising that He is anchored there. Abby saw the doors to the bar barred up, the place deserted and shut down.
We don’t know what He’s up to…we rarely even do. But He is up to something.Â
“Holy Spirit you are welcome here. Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere. Your glory God is what our hearts long for, to be overcome by your presence Lord.”
