Psalm 118:13-14

“I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.” Psalm 118:13-14

This verse has been my strength this week. At some points this week I have definitely felt like I’ve been falling, but the Lord has been so good. Physically this week has been the hardest so far just because I was sick for the first half of the week and on Tuesday lost my voice completely. It was just frustrating because I felt useless in ministry without my voice, but the Lord is good and by the end of the day it had come back to me fully. This past week was exciting in terms of ministry. We started some new ministries that I loved. We visited a special education school twice, the first time we just played with the kids and loved on them, and the second time we performed some funny kids dramas and songs for them. We also visited a children’s hospital, doing the same children’s dramas and songs. The children’s hospital was pretty heartbreaking, but really good. Most of the kids were too young to understand our dramas and songs but I think it was at least a good laugh for their parents, and hopefully and encouragement as well. We also started the prostitute ministry this week, which consisted of walking into local bars in Puerto Barrios and Santo Tomas and just talking to the women working there. Unfortunately we did that the Tuesday my voice was gone but I’m looking forward to doing that next week. One of my favorite ministries we did this week was take the first steps to starting a break dance ministry in one of the local parks here. One of the women who works with our ministry has been wanting to get it started for awhile so one night this week we went to the park to pray for an opening. A group of us met some boys who were break dancing and we asked them to teach us, they did for a while which was so fun, and then we just watched them.  The increase in ministry this week has definitely lifted the spirit of our team as a whole. I know that I am starting to feel better about being here for the next three months and I’m pretty sure that feeling is unanimous throughout the team.  Thank you for continuing to keep me in your prayers and supporting me!
