How A Red ‘X’ Can Free A Slave (Or 27 Million)

YOU KNOW IT. WE KNOW IT. AS A COUNTRY, WE'VE OFFICIALLY KNOWN IT SINCE 1863. BUT HERE'S SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW — SLAVERY STILL EXISTS. WE WANT EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE 27 MILLION MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN, JUST LIKE THEM, LIVING IN THE SHADOWS. IN BROTHELS. IN FACTORIES. IN QUARRIES. WORKING AS SLAVES. IN 161 COUNTRIES. INCLUDING OUR OWN. WE ARE HERE TO SHINE A LIGHT ON SLAVERY. NO MORE BONDAGE. NO MORE SEX TRAFFICKING. NO MORE CHILD LABORERS. NO MORE, STARTING NOW.

"So, how does this red X thing help?"

This past January at Passion 2013, Gary Haugen, founder of International Justice Mission, said this to the 60,000 people gathered in the Georgia Dome:

"As your brother in Christ I simply want to tell you that slavery is real, it's massive, it's brutal, and it's in our own backyard. You can be the generation that ends slavery in the world. You are the manifestation that God can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.
Awareness IS doing the work of justice."

You're probably passionate about a cause because someone told you about it. Someone showed you an Invisible Children movie or a Charity: Water video. You know there are children who need shoes because people have TOMS plastered on their feet. You may have even written love on your arms.

​TODAY. It's NOT too late.

We want the entire country to start asking,
"What are all these red X's?"
"Hey, why do you have a red X on your hand, I'm seeing them everywhere!"
"What are all these red X's on cars?!"

And we can answer.
We can tell them about the 27 million slaves today.
And give them resources to do something about it.

Something they wouldn't have done had we not told them.

If every END IT Facebook fan tells ONE person about slavery that didn't already know, over 60,000 people will be newly informed. People that can DO something about it.
