Open the floodgates, let it rain, and other water cliches =)

Panajachel Guatemala.
I am so excited and blessed and happy and PUMPED to be here! Since I arrived last Tuesday my heart has been fit to burst and I am hearing the Lords voice so clearly and ready to take on any challenges I am faced with.
At least, thats what I thought.
It´s so easy to say how ready you are for what´s to come, and how excited you are to face your fears and overcome challanges, but when you come face to face with a…. lets call it potential CATASTROPHY your true colors WILL shine through.

Friday morning we were getting ready for our first day of ministry. My team and I were all ready to take on the world with no fear and no hesitation. Right before we were set to leave I was brushing my teeth in our tiny bathroom thinking about they day ahead of me, when something rather terrible happened. We had a mirror sitting on the back of our toilet, and I honestly don´t know if i bumped it, or if it fell on its own accord, but reguardless, it fell off the back of our toilet causeing the pipe to come out of the wall and an absurd amount of water to start spraying EVERYWHERE!
I couldn´t even think.
I had no idea what to do.
So naturally, I just started screaming. Yelling like crazy for help, trying to push this pathetic little piece of plastic back into the wall and failing miserably. I heard some commotion happening out in our room, but I couldn´t figure out what they were doing and why they weren´t helping me.
'Where was everyone'? I kept thinking, 'Why arn´t they helping me?, do I really have to figure this out myself? Lord help!!'
Those were the only thoughts coming to my head as I quickly became drenched in water and swalled several mouthfulls, which some of you might know is the biggest no-no in other countries.
Finally, one of the guys got me out of the way so he could try and help, and when I came out into my room I saw  that our floor which had been covered with suitcases and back packs and all sorts of clothes and shoes just moments ago, was now about 2 inches deep in water, and all the belongings my roommates and myself were up on beds or in the hallways.
And my whole team was standing there, just as wet as I was, just as desperate to find someway to help, and they were filled with more compassion then I think I have ever seen. While I was in the bathroom flailing around in water freaking out, they had saved ALL of our belongings and called our landlord/pastor and figured out how to turn off the water and now were waiting for it to drain so we could start the clean up process.
I was so overwhelmed I wanted to cry. What a true family. What a TRIBE! When I was in need, they didn´t even think to hesitate before jumping into action and doing everything they could to see the problem resolved. What a perfect way to start our minestry here in Guatemala! We were once more unified as a TRIBE and ready to share Gods glory in this beautiful city together!

We were able to get the floors dried, and the plumbing fixed for 2 quetzals, which is less then .50 cents. God is so good. And the enemy is obviously already trying to pull apart our team and cause conflicts but our God is greater. And we stand stong and united in our faith.
