We are Called

I've begun to realize how called we really are to give up everything for the kingdom, the gospel's sake, and for Christ. Paul talks about us being crucified to the world and that ties with how God sent His only begotten Son for this disgusting world, but He still loved it.

I was reading the story of Bartimaeus in Mark 10, and Christ is walking around in Jericho. What Christ's does next is completely out of the ordinary: "So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called", Jesus called Bartimaeus to himself even though other people were trying to keep him away.

I've realized that this world truly hates the children of God, but that as believers we are not to be alarmed by that because all the reproach, hatred, and persecution has already been done through Jesus, now as followers of Christ we are to walk worthy of our calling.

But, a warning Paul gives in Romans 11:29 is this: "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." Once your hand is to the plow there is absolutely no turning back. The first step to getting back on track with God is eventually to get over yourself and get under the shadow of God's wings.

Truly, truly Christ loves His bride and He calls her out of the world and into His life. So, grab a hold of your calling and know that calls can change, but destiny is set in stone.

With love,
